Were you a good student?
I was an excellent student before I left school. But I graduated early so that I could work longer hours on 90210.

What was the worst popular trend when you were in school?
Spandex biker shorts. But wait, it gets worse! With tights under them and shiny Doc Martens with those big scrunchy socks. Paired with a tight top and a big, stretchy belt. I remember it vividly.

What’s the craziest thing you ever did to get a guy to notice you?
One time, my friend Rhonda and I stupidly went on the beach at night to meet the lifeguards. That’s something I never want my girls to do. Oh my God, we were lucky we didn’t end up dead!

What was your after-school job?
I worked as a secretary, a waitress and a dance teacher — all in high school. I taught three-year-olds how to tap dance. I think I was the only one with the patience to do it.

What clique were you in back then? Now?
I was a cheerleader for awhile but that was more in junior high. In high school, I was kind of a loner because I had moved to a new school. Then I had a boyfriend and all I cared about was my boyfriend. Now, I like to chat with the ladies and go for a glass of wine and gab. The chatty mommy clique!

Who was your idol back then? Now?
I loved Michael Jackson. I had Michael Jackson posters everywhere. I loved Mikhail Baryshnikov and Jessica Lange, also. At the time I didn’t know I was going to become an actress but I always loved her acting. Now, it’s hard to pinpoint one idol. I have a lot of respect for anyone who goes out there and puts their talent on the line. It’s hard to name one, though it’s probably still Jessica Lange as an actress.

What did you worry about back then?
If my hair was falling from all the hairspray! I wanted to make sure I had massive height. [Laughs] No, I’m not a worrier, but I probably worried about my father’s health.

“I always see him as really foxy,” Garth told PEOPLE about her heartthrob husband at the Style n’ Smile event on Thursday in New York City. “I’ve always thought, ‘Wow, I’m super lucky.’ He’s a babe.”

Even after 15 years together, their relationship remains strong – and they have passed their good genes on to their three daughters Luca, 13 Lola, 7 and Fiona, 4.
But that’s not all they have passed on. Garth says that although her kids are exposed to Hollywood life – and beauty expectations – she tries to make sure her kids are confident and have a positive self-image.

“My mom really instilled in me that I’m beautiful and I can do anything, and I echo that now with my own girls,” says Garth.

She also leads by example, showing her girls that it’s okay to be silly as long as you feel comfortable with yourself. With years as a teen star under her belt, the former Beverley Hills, 90210 star doesn’t let gossip or fame keep her from being fun or wacky.

“This is me, take it or leave it,” says Garth. “And I hope that by example, I might be showing my girls that it’s all fun.”

Thursday, the actress and the organization held a back-to-school Style ‘N Smile Fashion Show at the Hudson Hotel. The event featured adorable tweens and teens in braces and retainers.

“It’s the best gift you can give kids because it increases their self confidence,” said Ms. Garth. “Your smile is the first thing people see.”

Ms. Garth, formerly of “90210,” said she never had braces herself. “I actually wish that I had them when I was younger, and now I have different issues because I didn’t,” Ms. Garth said. She added that she was approached by the AAO after they saw her 13-year-old daughter Luca, with “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli, wearing braces.

“She had braces for two years and she just got them off, so now she’s in her retainers,” said Ms. Garth.

Asked whether braces have the stigma they once did, she replied, “In a weird way, I think it’s exciting for kids to get braces. Plus now they’re cooler looking and cuter. I think it made Luca feel kind of normal because it made her feel more unified with her peers. She had just started a new school. She loves her smile.”

Today has gone by in a total blur and was so much fun!

We started bright and early setting up and getting the models checked in and fitted. Makeup and hair came next and a dress rehearsal. The kids were all area orthodontic patients (both past and present) and they were so excited. It was great having them there.

Our guests from the Boys & Girls Club of America arrived soon after. We are so happy they were able to join us!

Dr. Lee Graber, the president of the AAO, welcomed the crowed of more than 50 attendees.

Jennie did an awesome job introducing the kids and all the great styles and fashions for this fall. Some of our favorite looks included pink, plaid and argyle. Converse sneakers were really popular as well. They looked really comfortable and all of the colors were great.

Peter Facinelli is a busy little bee these days. The star of The Twilight Saga was photographed kissing his wife, fellow actress Jennie Garth and their daughters as he left his home in Toluca Lake, California on Sunday, July 11th, 2010.

After enjoying a relaxing vacation in Hawaii he flew to Canada where he is set to begin shooting the film Loosies, which he wrote the script for. He will also play the lead role of Bobby, a young pickpocket in the New York subways who lives a fast, free, lifestyle. He is confronted by a woman whom he had a one night affair with, and she informs him that she is now pregnant with his child.

At a crossroad, he must now choose between continuing the lifestyle he lead or take responsibility for his actions.

Carlisle Cullen has a soulmate, but her name’s not Esme, it’s Jennie. In real life, Peter Facinelli, who plays the eldest Cullen in The Twilight Saga is married to our most favorite refugee from the original Beverly Hills 90210, Jennie Garth, and they are one adorable couple. The couple have been married for nine years and have three daughters and there’s no sign of their love fading, judging from a recent interview Facinelli gave.

Facinelli said of his wife “Sometimes we’re in a store and I’ll lose Jennie for a second. Then I’ll see her out of the corner of my eye, and she’s just the most beautiful woman. And I say to myself: ‘Oh, that’s my wife, I’m so lucky.’ Those moments just hit me — and they hit me often.” Look out, Robsten, our new favorite couple just might be Pennie.

In related news, Peter Facinelli was one of the castmembers to go out and greet all the crazy “Twilight Saga” fans who had camped outside the theatre for four days so they could be the first in line to see the huge film. Peter gave them food, signed autographs,and posed for pictures with them. It was a very cool thing for him to do.

Peter was joined by Jackson Rathbone,Julia Jones, and others to greet the fans. “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” hits theaters nationwide on June 30th next weekend. It should break box office records for sure.

Always the lovely couple, Peter Facinelli and wife Jennie Garth were among the stars on hand for the premiere of Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (June 24).

Screened as part of the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, the Dr Carlisle Cullen hunk and his “90210″ bride posed for pictures while greeting their avid fans.

With the “Eclipse” stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner all turning up , the movie showcase is deemed as one of the biggest events of the summer.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters next Wednesday (June 30), with a huge box office take all but assured.

It’s a family affair for “Mulligan” starring Jennie Garth (“90210″), a Hallmark Channel Original Movie penned by her husband, Peter Facinelli (“Twilight,” “Nurse Jackie”), who has also just joined the cast along with Fred Willard (“Modern Family”) and Marilu Henner (“Taxi”). Garth and Facinelli’s daughters will also be taking part in small roles.

A disgruntled actor (Ethan Eriskon, “Melrose Place”) wants to do more than play “Mulligan the Rabbit” on a children’s TV show and discovers life can change in a heartbeat when he causes a car accident with single mother, Annie (Garth). Facinelli has signed on as Eddie’s mooching childhood buddy, Scott. Willard joins the cast as Eddie’s slick agent, Dick while Henner will portray Annie’s well-meaning mother.

Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli have listed their six-bedroom Colonial-style home in Toluca Lake, California. The Real Estalker reports that the pair originally bought the home in 2005 for $2.85 million. The home has been significantly expanded and renovated but began as a classic Paul Williams designed home in 1934. It was originally built for Tex Ritter and was the childhood home of John Ritter. Paul Williams details include crown molding, a crescent-shaped staircase and other architectural detailing. The gated home has a five-car garage and there is a waterfall pool and spa with an outdoor pavilion and fireplace. Set off in a corner of the yard is a children’s playset.

The home has formal dining and living rooms, a bar room, chocolate-colored game room and a separate kitchen/family room. The upstairs has two master suites once with walk-in closets, a safe room and a sitting room with a coffee bar and fireplace. A separate wing upstairs includes the gym, playroom and dual offices. The rooms for their daughters are colorfully decorated including a bright pink room for Lola (her name is on the wall). This home is listed at $5.995 million.

Recently, Facinelli spoke out about environmental issues, and now he and Jennie Garth are adding a new charity to the workload, “Make a Clean Difference.”

The two are teaming up with Proctor & Gamble’s Bounty brand as well as many other groups to work at a local Los Angeles school, Kingsley Elementary School, and “unit[e] more than 1,000 volunteers to transform the learning environments of 30 public schools in 10 cities across the country.”

Facinelli was quoted to state, “Jennie and I are thrilled to be here in Los Angeles to join Bounty and all of the volunteers who have given their time today to truly make a difference in the lives of these young students . . . As parents of three daughters, we understand the importance of inspiring children in the classroom, and we are happy to be part of a program committed to improving their learning potential.”

Peter Facinelli and his wife, Jennie Garth, were arm in arm last night for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s Chairman’s Gala in NYC. He found a free evening in his busy travel schedule to emcee the event, which raised $175,000 for the organization. Both Peter and Jennie still had a bronzed glow from their recent romantic getaway in Mexico. It’s been a busy month of jet-setting for the couple, as they were in California over the weekend to attend her former 90210 costar Ian Ziering’s beautiful wedding. Things won’t slow down for Peter especially, as he gets ready for the release of Eclipse later this month. He recently opened up about his work in the Twilight franchise, talking about his role as Dr. Cullen, the scrutiny Rob and Kristen face, and what his three daughters make of the hype. Peter said:

•On his love for Eclipse: “Eclipse is my favorite book in the series . . . I like that the two opposing forces, vampires and werewolves, band together for the common good.”
•On Robert and Kristen’s stint in the limelight: “It must have been scary, to be catapulted into the limelight when you are that age. I don’t know if I could have handled it so gracefully, to be under that kind of microscope and judged if you go out or be judged if you stay in. The rumors just fly around. They lead a simple life and are not seeking that kind of publicity.”
•On what his daughter Luca thinks of his role: “She just rolls her eyes and thinks, ‘Oh, my God, my dad’s a vampire. How embarrassing.’ I’m sure even Obama’s daughters say, ‘Oh, my God, my dad’s the president. How embarrassing.’”

They’re always up for a good cause, and last night (June 2) Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli were spotted at the 2010 Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s Chairman’s Gala.

The “90210” babe and her “Twilight” hubby were all smiles as they posed together outside the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

And while Peter has been focusing on promotions for his upcoming film “Eclipse,” Jennie has been busy as a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association.

She explained, “Making the right choices for my heart isn’t always easy, but my family history of heart disease has inspired me to live a better life for myself and my daughters. Go Red BetterU isn’t about fad diets or trends, it helps busy women, like me, learn the skills to easily build healthier and better lives for ourselves and our families.”

Neil Tobbler and his best friend Gilbert Stevens are the biggest geeks in their school who love science class, get good grades, are socially inept, and just can’t seem to get a break from anyone they meet in their lives, until they stumble upon a formula which can transform nerds into studs. Jennie Garth opens up to OK! about how she and Twilight hubby Peter Facinelli keep in touch while he is busy at work.
“We text. It’s quicker than calling — a lot of times you’re on set or in the middle of chaos and can’t talk,” the 38-year-old mom of three revealed to OK! of her doting husband.

“We keep each other laughing that way. He’s my comedic relief.”

Knowing how important communication is in a healthy marriage, Jennie says that texting has become her priority.

“I need that fix every day. When your spouse is gone for extended periods, it’s hard to keep it together, but that’s our priority.”

Jennie and Peter, 36, have been married since 2001.

The happy couple have three daughters: Luca, Lola, and Fiona.

Twilight star Peter Facinelli presented the Inspiration Award to his wife Jennie Garth Friday at a luncheon in Beverly Hills and RadarOnline.com spoke exclusively with the couple about the honor.

“She’s an inspiration to me everyday,” Peter said adoringly about 90210 star Jennie to RadarOnline.com. “I’m presenting the Inspiration Award to my wife and that’s why it is important for me to be here,” he explained. Not buying into her hubby’s macho-ism, Miss Garth shot back, “I’m going to look over and he’ll be wiping tears.”

Her turn on 90210 may have come to an end, but Jennie Garth says she’s happy for some much-earned downtime.

“I worked really hard for many years, and now my life is more about doing things that give back,” she tells Time Out New York Kids.

Those who stand the most to gain? The actress’ three daughters Luca Bella, 12, Lola Ray, 7, and Fiona Eve, 3½.

“I also want to be with my kids, to be around while they’re eating breakfast, to make them lunch; they’re my priority,” Garth, 38, explains.

“I’ve seen what you can get out of this business, and Hollywood is really just a big facade. I honestly love being at home with my kids.”

Husband Peter Facinelli, by contrast, is experiencing a career upswing with the Twilight film franchise and his role on Nurse Jackie but Garth says there is “no competition or jealousy” in their marriage of nine years.

“I’m happy doing what I’m doing,” she insists. “It’s so much more rewarding to be a mom than any acting I’ve ever done.”

Garth goes on to say that she’s equally thrilled with the taking on the role of “supportive wife” and that the state of her union with Facinelli is strong.

“We’re both really committed to staying together, raising our children together and growing old together,” she reveals.

As for whether or not the Facinelli Five will someday become the Facinelli Six, Garth remains non-committal.

“I love kids and big families, so you never know,” she adds.

Step Up Women’s Network announced today that it will honor actress and advocate Jennie Garth, Creative Artists Agency television agent Sonya Rosenfeld, and WE tv & Wedding Central President and General Manager Kim Martin at its seventh annual Inspiration Awards event at the Beverly Hilton on May 14. The fundraising luncheon celebrates professional and philanthropic accomplishment, honoring influencers, executives and Step Up members and teens alike.

“We’re truly excited to honor impressive women whose professional and philanthropic achievements have noticeably connected and advanced women and girls everywhere,” Step Up Executive Director Jenni Luke said. “The Inspiration Awards showcases our vital work of bridging communities of professional women and underserved teen girls through mentorship, networking and advancement. Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli are a great couple. Not only do they get along well, but they manage to work through the drama of doing dietary cleansing together. Considering how intense it is, it’s amazing they don’t kill each other after the sixth day.

Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli have been married since 2001, and they’re totally comfortable going through diet changes with each other regularly. While Jennie Garth only does a cleanse once every two years, Facinelli does a more intense routine.

“I’m on the TrimFit cleanse, which means you get to eat one meal a day,” Jennie Garth, who is the spokesperson for the Hidden Valley Love Your Veggies campaign, told the press.

“My husband’s on the cold turkey, straight-up, full-body cleanse, where he doesn’t eat for seven days. We’re doing it together at the same time, commiserating, but he’s doing the more harsh one. We cleanse it out once every year – once every two years, for me – my husband and I do it together.”

Jennie does it for health reasons, and it sounds like she’s not a fan of the experience.

“It’s really hard,” she said. “It’s hard, but sometimes you just get out of control with your eating. Personally, I’ve come off of an emotional-eating binge. My dad died, my daughter was sick, so it’s been a two-year thing of not really taking care of myself. I’m trying to refocus on taking care of my insides as well as my outsides, and this is the start of that.”

I have tried the Blueprint Cleanse, which was a wild enough ride for me. While cleanses work for some people, all they do for me is put me in a nasty, foggy mood. Give me fresh veggies any day!

Jennie is doing such a great thing, and i can not agree more with her. This abuse is horrible and has to stop, and i think it starts with us by not supporting and or promote this kind of circuses that treats their animals so badly.

90210 star Jennie Garth has just sent a letter on PETA’s behalf to parent-oriented Web site and marketing firm Mom Central urging the site to end its promotion of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. In December, PETA sent Mom Central CEO Stacy DeBroff photographs and undercover video footage of Ringling trainers as they beat and whipped elephants. But the site has decided to continue offering discounted circus tickets to other parenting blogs.

“In their natural habitat, mother and daughter elephants rarely leave each other’s side,” writes Garth. “I implore you to consider the helpless animals who are forced to surrender their children to a lifetime of isolation and pain.”

PETA has revealed dozens of dozens of never-before-seen photos taken inside Ringling’s Florida training center by a veteran elephant handler. The photos expose how still-nursing baby elephants are captured rodeo-style and dragged away from their mothers. The babies scream and struggle frantically as they are wrestled, stretched out, slammed to the ground, gouged with steel-tipped bullhooks, and shocked with electric prods. Dear Ms. DeBroff:

As the mother of three daughters, I appreciate resources like Mom Central that help working moms deal with the everyday experiences of parenthood. Since so many mothers turn to your Web site for guidance, I urge you to reevaluate your current partnership with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Please consider the animal abuse and family separation that you are actually endorsing by recommending this cruel show to your readers.

Photos taken at Ringling’s facility (available at RinglingBeatsAnimals.com) show frightened baby elephants who are forcibly stretched out, slammed to the ground, and wrestled by several adult men holding bullhooks–a heavy device with a sharp hook at one end that trainers use to beat elephants on the nerve-rich skin of the head, ears, trunk, and other sensitive areas. Any mother can recognize the pain and terror on these baby elephants’ faces as they are roped around all four legs, tethered neck-to-neck to an anchor elephant, and dragged from their mothers–some while still nursing. After undergoing a year of daily violent training sessions, elephants continue to endure bullhook beatings and constant confinement as they travel from city to city–all for a few moments of entertainment.

In their natural habitat, mother and daughter elephants rarely leave each other’s side. Because Mom Central is a resource that promotes support for all mothers, I implore you to consider the helpless animals who are forced to surrender their children to a lifetime of isolation and pain. Please do not continue to condone this cruelty. I urge you to end Mom Central’s Ringling promotions.

As previously reported, Jennie Garth has become involved with Veggie Central, in an effort to help parents get their children to eat more vegetables.

Garth said she was surprised to learn that so many kids’ idea of fruit is a fruit rollup and that vegetables are often scarce on the plate.

“I was shocked to find out how many kids are not provided with fruits and vegetables every day, which is why I was happy to be a part of this campaign.”

Besides growing her own produce at home, Garth also employs techniques to sneak vegetables into meals, something she learned from Missy Chase Lapine’s book, The Sneaky Chef, according to Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“We have our own garden and have a great appreciation for fresh vegetables at our house, but I have been known to use The Sneaky Chef cookbook now and then.”

Garth said that if she could do some things about parenting over again, she would only provide her children with organic foods and wishes she’d never introduced her daughter Fiona to sugar.

I got teary again and again watching Jennie Garth’s character, Kelly Taylor, grow up on Beverly Hills, 90210—and I got goose bumps when she mamboed on Dancing With the Stars. But when I learned that Jennie asked MomCentral.com to drop its partnership with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, I cheered so loudly that I woke Frank and Tom from their fifth nap of the day. (Sorry, fellas.)

The mother of three was moved to take action after learning about Ringling’s abuse of baby elephants, who are snatched away from their wailing, distraught mothers by trainers who slam the babies to the ground, poke and prod them with bullhooks, and give them electric shocks. Asking the site to sever its ties with Ringling, Jennie wrote, “Because Mom Central is a resource that promotes support for all mothers, I implore you to consider the helpless animals who are forced to surrender their children to a lifetime of isolation and pain.”

You don’t need to have children to be concerned about the dangerous lesson Ringling teaches its audiences—that it’s OK to abuse babies who’ve been stolen from their mothers. I’ll be following Jennie’s lead and politely asking MomCentral.com to drop Ringling. Will you join me?
